No Nissan GT-R Redesign Until 2018
According to sources at Nissan, the successful formula of the current-generation GT-R will not see a new redesign and overhaul until 2018 at the earliest. But, what exactly do we know about the Nissan GT-R redesign? Well, it is still an ambiguous picture, but we do know it will have a hybrid powertrain and retain its front-engine, 2+2 coupe configuration. It may also incorporate visual motifs from the Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo, but naturally this is also speculation right now. We just won’t know much more until late in 2017, so stay tuned!
What about the 2016 GT-R?
On another front, we have a little more information about the upcoming redesign for the R35 GT-R, also known as the speculative 2016 GT-R. Based on leaked photographs, we believe that next year’s Nissan GT-R will implement a redesigned grille and front exterior elements, including Nissan’s soon-to-be standardized “V-shape” design that will be a signature part of all Nissan vehicles moving forward. There should be more information coming down the pipeline later this year, so keep your eyes peeled.
The 2015 GT-R: Available Now
In the meantime, the beastly 2015 Nissan GT-R is available now, and it is certainly impressive to say the least. There just isn’t a vehicle on the market that can get you as much bang for your buck as Nissan’s 2015 GT-R – it gives the Porches and Lamborghinis of the world a run for their money. With its 3.8L V6 engine, the current GT-R can kick out nearly 545 hp and 462 lb-ft of torque, all while maintaining great fuel economy in both the city and on the highway. The 2015 GT-R is a force to be reckoned with.
